You hear it all the time:“Change your energy, change your life!”But what if you don’t “feel” energy? What if you’re just…tired, numb, or pissed off, and the only thing you feel is your pulse in your neck and the urge to scroll TikTok until you forget your own name?
Here’s my confession: I don’t feel energy. Not like other healers describe it—no tingling hands, no angel choirs, no fireworks. Most of the time, it’s just me, a client, and a pendulum swinging in circles. The shift? It shows up in their faces, their words, their lives—they feel lighter, and they keep coming back. So I trust the process, even when I can’t “feel” it myself. That was a big lesson: the energy isn’t for me—it’s for them. I’m just the conduit.
A lot of people make shifting energy sound like a magic pill or a hashtag. “Just be positive!”If only it were that easy. But it does work—slowly, through small things, if you actually do them.
Little Rituals, Big Results
Declutter, move things around, clean with intention. Tidy up daily. Remember the things you love, release what you don’t. Even sweeping can clear stagnant energy if you do it with purpose.
Catch yourself spiralling into negativity—stop, breathe, and talk back. Say what you want, not just what you lack. Change “I must lose weight” to “I’m working toward being lighter and healthier.”Give your brain something possible, not perfect.
Do something kind for others or yourself. Play with the dog, cook something you enjoy, put your phone away and savour a cup of tea. These little acts trigger real changes in your mind and body—even if it just feels like survival.
Don’t make rituals a chore.
Posture and Breath
How you hold your body changes your energy. Stand or sit straight, fill your lungs—try it, and see how your mood shifts.
Small rituals help, but big change means facing your shadow—the parts of you you’ve hidden, denied, or blamed on the world.
My prompts for starting shadow work:
Don’t try to “fix” it all at once. Start small, forgive yourself, and remember—shadow work isn’t about being broken, it’s about coming home to yourself.
You’re not alone.I used to think this was all wishful thinking, too. But I kept doing it, even out of stubbornness. Eventually, my life changed, not because I believed in magic, but because I kept showing up for myself—even when I didn’t believe it would work. You don’t have to “feel” it. Just do it. Fake it, if you have to. The universe doesn’t care if you chant mantras or mutter under your breath—it responds to consistency and intention.
I spent years bitter, stuck, blaming the world and everyone in it. Loving and hating the same people—mostly hating myself. But one small thing, done every day, made a difference. First, just a note in my phone. Then a walk, a shower, a kind word. It was slow, and I didn’t believe it at first, but the weight lifted, a little at a time. Now, I wake up and I want to be here. I love my people. I love myself.
There’s no miracle coming—you are the miracle.Don’t wait for thunderbolts. Start with a whisper.Move, breathe, forgive, keep going.Shift your energy, even if you can’t feel it—because your life will feel it, and that’s enough.
Pick one thing today. Move your body, clean your space, write a note, or just breathe. Do it every day for a week, and see what happens. If you need prompts, start with mine—just don’t give up on yourself.
